The brutal double murder of a man and his wife at the Paladin Club condominiums in Wilmington has nabbed another suspect.
The Wilmington News Journal reports that 32-year old Aaron Thompson is facing two counts of first-degree murder among other charges in the deaths of Joseph and Olga Connell.
Authorities say that his business partner Christopher Rivers hired a middleman to get two professional hitmen to kill them in an ambush in September of 2013.
Law enforcement officials say that Rivers wanted to cash in on a $1 million insurance policy that would have taken care of the mortgage on the property owned by C&S Automotive.
The alleged intermediary, Joshua Bey, pled guilty to committing murder last year and is cooperating with law enforcement against Rivers and the other alleged hit man Dominique Benson.
