Teen Falls From Window in Ocean City

Ocean City Police badge

OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) - Authorities say a West Virginia teen is in stable condition after he fell from a fifth story window while attempting to flee the scene of an assault in downtown Ocean City.

Police say when officers arrived at the hotel Sunday, they found injured 18-year-old Ricky Leon Miller of Hedgesville, West Virginia, in an alley directly below the open window.

Police say the initial investigation determined that prior to the fall, Miller had assaulted a 26-year-old woman who was pushing a baby stroller on the third floor of the hotel. Investigators say Miller had no prior contact with the woman.

Police say alcohol and drugs are believed to have been contributing factors. Police say the investigation is ongoing and pending charges against Miller haven't been determined yet.
