WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Delaware Gov. Jack Markell says he will sign a bill giving tax credits to those who hire veterans.
The governor's office says the Veteran's Tax Credit will be 10 percent of a qualified veteran's wages, up to a maximum of $1,500. Employers may take the credit the year a veteran is hired and the two subsequent tax years.
Markell's office says the governor will joined at Tuesday's signing in Wilmington by Delaware National Guard Major General Frank Vavala, state lawmakers and executives from JP Morgan Chase. The company has created an office dedicated to supporting the veteran community.
