Sussex County Could Curb Concerts

Hudson Fields logo

The Sussex County Council may cut back on concerts in the region.

Currently, events that are three days or less are not regulated by the conditional use regulations.

But public hearings will be held on a proposal that would allow a maximum of five days of events each year at a particular venue.

That does not include set up or breakdown time.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that Hudson Fields which hosts outdoor events has received complaints about the sound.

Christian Hudson told the paper that he thinks the five day cap would have an adverse impact on summer and fall concert planning.

In addition, he said that his site also hosts Foodie Fest events which benefits local charities.

He adds that his location is the home for the Atlantic Lacrosse Club.

It has more than 300 members.
