Supporters of Data Center in Delaware Call for Probe

delawarejobsnow.org

In the wake of the lawsuit against the University of Delaware over the failed data center and power plant project at the old Chrysler plant supporters are calling for an investigation of claims that the school system sabotaged the effort and lied to the public.

Sam Lathem, president of the Delaware State AFL-CIO, told the Wilmington News Journal that he wants to know exactly what happened.

Meanwhile, state Senator Colin Bonini called the claims by The Data Centers LLC “disturbing” because the university gets state money.

The News Journal reports that university spokeswoman Andrea Tippett said that the school system is prepared to explain its action in Superior Court.

In addition, she said, that Delaware General Assembly could begin an investigation if it deems that to be appropriate.
