SU President Addresses Diversity at Town Hall

salisbury.edu

They were mostly students and faculty as Salisbury University President Janet Dudley-Eshbach took the stage yesterday for a Town Hall.

It was entitled “Rap With Me.”

But in recent months the issue of diversity on campus led to a group of students who met with the President about – what they see – as a lack of racial awareness on campus.

They presented the President with a statement during their meeting with her and then said they would return with specific issues.

During her address yesterday Dudley-Eshbach praised the students for bringing the issue to the fore:

"This is not about one group of students, one cohort. These are issues and the discussions that however difficult they may be need to includ all members of our campus community."

The issue arose after a number of other universities and colleges last year broke out with protests over the racial atmosphere on campus.
