Street Performers Protest OC Boardwalk Limits

Don Rush

Street performers were out in front of Ocean City’s Town Hall protesting the resort’s new ordinance which requires them to sign up for one of 32 designate spots along the Boardwalk.

Around 10 to 20 chanted, cheered and urged passersby to sign a petition against the ordinance.

Inside City Hall the town’s clerk Diana Chavis noted that even during the second week of signups there were still some spots that had not been taken.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that the policy will last until the end of September when the resort could take another look at the ordinance to see how it worked.
