umes.edu

Students on the campus at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore saw more security after a student was stabbed to death over the weekend.

UMES police officers and security staff were put on 12 hour shifts.

That doubles the number of personnel on campus.

21 year-old Edmond St. Clair was stabled to death and died at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.

Police are still instigating the stabbing death which resulted from an altercation last Saturday night.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that this is the first murder on campus in 35 years.
