State Grants Available for Tree Management

DOVER, Del. (AP) - Matching grants of up to $5,000 are available to homeowner groups and municipalities from the Delaware Forest Service.

The News Journal of Wilmington  reports that the grants can be used for projects that increase tree canopy, develop and implement tree management plans, remove hazardous trees or use trees to mitigate storm water runoff.

Applicants must match grants in 50-50 cost sharing with nonfederal funds or in-kind services such as volunteer or staff time.
