In Delaware yesterday it was time to bury the hatch – literally.

The ceremony is part of Return Day with politicians gathering in the Georgetown Circle after the hard fought 2014 elections.

It’s a time when partisan politics are put aside and the crowds cheer.

Democratic Senator Chris Coons said that he wished the nation could have a Return Day given the rancor occurring in Washington over the years.

And, Democratic Congressman John Carney told WBOC that he agreed.

But there were a number losing candidates who did not show up for the parade.
The ceremonial day has been going on for more than two years.
