OCEAN VIEW, Del. (AP) - The city of Ocean View is unveiling a new solar array that will generate electricity for the city's municipal building.

Delaware Sen. Tom Carper, Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control Secretary Collin O'Mara and town officials will dedicate the solar array on Tuesday. The solar array panels, which were manufactured in Newark, sit on top of a 260-foot-long carport that provides shelter for 24 vehicles.

Officials say the array is expected to generate more than 80 percent of the electricity used each year by the Wallace A. Melson Municipal Building.

The 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funded the $458,000 project.
