Snow: Not Quite As Bad As Predicted

noaa

Delmarva got off easy as the great snow storm of 2015 turned out to be – not so great.

Forecasters had originally expected 1 to 3 feet of snow in New York and the Northeast.

Now, those numbers have been downgraded to perhaps 2 feet in Boston and Rhode Island while New York was expected to see 10 to 20 inches and New Jersey was looking at 6 inches.

Here in the Salisbury area residents had braced for something bigger.

In Delaware, there was only a dusting with only a half inch as far north as Claymont, Hockessin and Port Penn as of this morning.

The winter weather advisory was canceled for all portions of Delaware.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that National Weather Service officials expect less than three inches through this evening.

Nonetheless there were some school closures in Delaware.

But the state offices are expected to be open.

Nonetheless, many were looking forward to some of the white stuff.
