The widow of Officer Steven Floyd killed in the Vaughn Correctional Center says she will not meet with Governor John Carney.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that Sandra Floyd issued a statement saying that she has been “threatened by lawyers for the state” demanding repayment for her husband’s funeral expenses.

Her statement comes after a request by Governor Carney to stop by to see how her family was doing.

She said she has not yet been informed about how her husband died in the inmate uprising and asked that she get a response for her request that her husband’s autopsy be released.

The News Journal reports that Jonathan Starkey, a spokesman for the governor, said that it would be inappropriate for him to respond to questions by her attorney about how he died.

Starkey said that Carny had hoped to meet with the family to offer his thoughts and prayers.
