NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (AP) - Authorities say someone fired a gun at the Newport News Police headquarters, damaging several windows.

Police spokesman Brandon Maynard tells news outlets that the shooting was reported early Tuesday.

Maynard says the building was occupied at the time, but there were no injuries reported.

Investigators say they have watched surveillance footage and believe one person on foot fired the shots. They did not release any additional information about the suspect.

Three windows in the main building were damaged, along with two in the evidence building and one at the records division.
