Sheriff Christopher Considers Write-In Campaign

facebook

It could be a write-in campaign for Sussex County Sheriff Jeff Christopher who lost to Robert Lee in his reelection bid by 21 votes in this week’s primary elections.

The manual count of the absentee ballots yesterday did not change the outcome.

Lee and Christopher were both on hand as election workers tallied up the 479 votes.

Christopher said that he was considering a write-in effort if Lee won the Republican primary.

He said he was getting phone calls from people urging to him to do so.

Meanwhile, the Wilmington News Journal reports that leaders of the Independent Party of Delaware have said they would welcome Christopher if he chose to run on their ticket.
