Second Flu Death This Season in Delaware

A 98 year New Castle woman has succumbed to the flu making her death the second this season in Delaware.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that she had contracted influenza strain A and had a number of medical issues that caused her death.

The first case involved an 87-year-old man also from New Castle who had the same strain with underlying conditions.

Officials say that January is the most serious time for people coming down with the flu especially since many travel for the holidays.

Delaware State official urge people to take precautions and get vaccinated.
