Second Degree Murder Verdict in Connally Case

mug shot

19-year old Kyshir Connally has been found guilty of second degree murder among other charges in the shooting death of 17 year old Rakim Russell in August of last year.

The jury did acquit him of first degree murder which carries a life sentence.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that his two co-defendants 20-year old Larry Ennis and 19-year old Jared Stokes who shot Russell were convicted of first degree murder.

The paper reports that while Connally did not actually kill Russell he had a dispute with him providing the motive for the killing.

Authorities began to unravel the case when the driver Marquel Pinder testified against them after accepting a plea deal of 15 years.
