All of the schools in the Seaford School district were put on a precautionary lockdown yesterday afternoon.

Seaford police say officers responded to reports of shots being fired at 1:30 p.m. in the Stein Highway and Sussex Avenue area near West Seaford elementary school which was having field day activities.

The school was placed on lockdown and the students were sent home with their parents.

WBOC reports that Seaford Police believe that from witnesses and further investigation a possible Black Doge with unknown Maryland registration and a possible silver Honda exchanged shots in the area.

There were no reports of injuries and no indication the incident was related to the school.
