WALLOPS ISLAND, Va. (AP) - A rocket carrying experiments developed by students is scheduled to be launched from Virginia's Eastern Shore on Tuesday.

NASA says community college and undergraduate university students from seven higher education programs across the nation developed the experiments through the RockSat-X program.

The two-stage Terrier-Improved Malemute suborbital sounding rocket is scheduled to be launched between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. Tuesday from NASA's Wallops Island Flight Facility. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are the backup launch days.
