The Science Channel will not broadcast its three hour special on Delaware’s Punkin Chunkin event set to air on November 26th.

The decision follows an accident that injured two people.

WBOC reports that the broadcast was to mark the event’s return after a two year hiatus.

On November 6th a woman was struck by something from the cannon as it exploded.

She is listed in critical condition.

The man was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Punkin Chunkin first began in 1986 but was halted after local farmer in Bridgeville decided not to host event when a volunteer was injured in an ATV accident.

He filed a lawsuit which was later dismissed.
