Consolidation of the Delaware’s 19 school district begins to get a hard look this week.
A taskforce has been created for the review consisting of lawmakers, school district officials and parents.
WBOC reports that some have been urging reduction in the number of school districts arguing that it could save some serious cash for the state by eliminating duplication of services.
State Senator Colin Bonini (R-Dover South) said the state should be looking seriously at combining services.
But some of the school board members say supporters of consolidation may not get the savings they expect.
