NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - Police in Norfolk say a school bus overturned on a highway onramp and six students and the driver were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Police spokesman Officer Daniel Hudson said by telephone that the bus on Tuesday morning hit an angled wall along the onramp for Interstate 64 and overturned. The bus with 22 students on board was traveling from Granby High School to Norfolk Technical Center.

Hudson says six students and the driver were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Images from the scene show the bus overturned on the onramp with the rear door and ceiling hatch open with emergency workers nearby.

Hudson said Tuesday night that the driver, 71-year-old Callie Goodwyn, was charged with reckless driving and failure to maintain control of a vehicle.
