Two term City Council member Debbie Campbell fell far behind her challenger in Salisbury’s primary yesterday.
Jake Day led by a 3-to-1 margin garnering 803 votes to Campbell’s 271 in District 2.
The third candidate in the race Jack Heath CEO of Lower shore Enterprises came in third with 197 votes.
There are 140 absentee ballots still to be counted tomorrow.
Then there are provisional ballots that will be counted on March 6th and 8th.
Meanwhile, in District 2 incumbent Shanie Shields led businesswoman Cynthia Polk by a 55 to 40 vote margin.
Second place however is too close to call with April Jackson just one vote behind Polk according to unofficial results.
Turnout was low with just over 14-hundred votes -- 200 short of the 2009 primary.
The general election is set for April 2nd at which time the two Mayoral candidates incumbent Jim Ireton and challenger Joe Albero will be on the ballot.
