Salisbury police are searching for up to ten suspects in connection with the stabbing of a 21 year old man in the Claimont Shopping Center on South Salisbury Boulevard on Wednesday night.

The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. when around seven to ten people on foot and on bicycles got into a verbal argument with the man.

Police told WBOC that when he tried to leave he was assaulted and fell to the ground where he was kicked and punched.

Authorities say that it was only later that they discovered he had been stabbed in up part of his back.

The television station reports that it is not known whether the suspects knew the victim.

The victim was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center and has been released after being treated.

The only description of the suspects is that they were African American and in the late teens.
