Salisbury Mayor proclaims July "Delmarva Public Radio month"
Salisbury Mayor James Ireton has issued a city proclamation declaring July “Delmarva Public Radio Month” in honor of the 25th anniversary of its founding in 1987.
The Mayor praised Delmarva Public Radio with its 40,000 listeners for bringing many local citizens, community leaders, politicians and other dignitaries to the airwaves to explore the issues that concern all Delmarvans.
The City of Salisbury also congratulates Delmarva Public Radio for the numerous awards that it has received from the Associated Press and the successful collaboration with Salisbury University which established Delmarva Public Radio under University President Dr. Thom Bellavance and continues to this day with President Janet Dudley-Eshbach.
Its signals sweeps from Chincoteague, Virginia to Dover, Delaware and reaches the Western Shore of Maryland.
WSCL 89.5 was established in 1987 adding WSDL 90.7 in 1998.
