Local residents are shelling out $500 as a reward to find those responsible for vandalizing a play-boat area on Wellington Beach near Crisfield.

Katie Schoffstall, whose grandson was playing at the site, noticed the graffiti that mentioned drugs and alcohol which she said was not appropriate for her grandson.

The boat was donated by a local business in June and work was funded by the Crisfield commissioners.

Local resident Billie chandler was one of the organizers and contributed $100 to the reward.

She told WBOC that was followed by 30 other contributors that ultimately brought the reward to the $500 mark.
