DOVER, Del. (AP) - Delaware officials say competition from casinos in neighboring states continues to squeeze revenues at Delaware's three casinos.
The Delaware State News reports that the Video Lottery Advisory Council met for the second time this year to discuss the state of the gambling industry.
Combined slot machine revenue for Delaware's casinos was about $637 million in 2006, when the first Pennsylvania casino opened. It has declined every year since. Last year, Delaware slot machine revenue was $375 million, and it is down nearly 10 percent for the first six months of 2014.
Table games, which began in Delaware midway through 2010 and brought in $63.5 million in the first full year. But the number fell to $51.3 million last year and is down another 15.4 percent so far this year.
