ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - A campaign spokeswoman for Maryland Rep. C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger says he will not run for Senate.

Jaime Lennon, the spokeswoman, said Tuesday Ruppersberger plans to seek re-election to Maryland's 2nd Congressional District instead.

Ruppersberger, a Democrat who represents parts of Baltimore city and parts of the surrounding area, will be running for his eighth term in Congress.

Ruppersberger had been mulling running for the Senate seat that will be open when Sen. Barbara Mikulski retires next year.
