Andrew Hanson, vice president of Osprey Property Company, says if the residents of Salisbury want to know what he has plans for the Rivers Edge project near downtown look no further than the Renaissance Square in Hyattsville.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that it is a four-story apartment complex that overlooks an arts-themed district of specialty shops, hip food joints and art galleries replacing old storefronts.

The Salisbury City Council backed the project after developers designated the income restricted complex for artists with the new name – Rivers Edge Apartments and Studio for the Arts.

A handful of units would also be set aside for people with disabilities.

The Council gave its okay for the company to seek a state loan and federal tax credits to help with the $16.5 million construction cost.
