Delaware could be getting a major employment boost.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that Harvey Hanna & Associates plan to buy the former General Motors plant on Boxwood Road.

Redevelopment of the 142-acre site is expected to generate thousands of job.

The paper reports that the site is seen as a convenient transportation hub with a rail line and easy access to major highways such as I-95 and I-495.

In addition, it is also within easy reach to the Port of Wilmington as well as airports in Philadelphia and New Castle.

The company’s chief operating officer Thomas Hanna noted that his firm has had extensive experience in redeveloping manufacturing sites.
