"Fireplace Burning". Licensed under Public Domain via Wikimedia Commons

If the cold snap is getting you down, warm up to some great music this weekend on Delmarva Public Radio!

Here are just a few highlights...

WSCL89.5

Friday at 6PM  Fiesta! highlights classical composers from Cuba. Pair that with the New York Philharmonic, and you have two tickets to (classical) paradise.

Saturday at noon- Travel to warm Ceylon courtesy World of Opera and Georges Bizet's "The Pearfishers".  By the way, if you are new to opera,  a music teacher, or just curious, the World of Opera website is a great resource to learn about the plot and history of this moving work.

Sunday at 4PM- Get ready for the Oscars with The Score's "2015 Academy Awards" program. You hear excerpts from all five Best Film Scores.

WSDL, 90.7

Friday 8PM- Tom Pittman picks some classic songs about being cold  by Kitty Wells, Porter Wagoner and Tom. T. Hall on Vintage Country. Stay tuned in for Americana music from Wales, Canada and New Zealand at 11PM on The International Americana Music Show.

Saturday at 3,- warp back to the "Summer of love" with Dig! host Kim Clark.

at 4- Global Village highlights music from Jamaica this week (that ought to make you feel warm).

on Sunday night at 10- pull those covers over your head and relax with the folk music of the Midnight Special

Stay warm,  everyone!
