Record Wild Turkey Hunting Season in Delaware

clipartcblogspot.blog

DOVER, Del. (AP) - Officials in Delaware say hunters bagged 687 wild turkeys during the spring turkey hunting season, surpassing a previous record.

Officials say the previous record was set in 2012 when hunters bagged 615 birds. The state says Delaware has set a record for nine of the last 10 years. The 2014 turkey hunting season ended May 10.

Officials say almost 90 percent of the birds bagged this year were shot on private land, though 83 birds were taken on public lands. The 2015 wild turkey season will start on April 11 and run through May 9.
