Rallying Against Violence in Dover

Dover residents as well as city and state officials gathered in the parking lot behind Father’s Kingdom Church to call for an end to the recent violence that has struck the city.

Last night’s vigil took place within a hundred yards of two of three shootings that have occurred in the state capital since Sunday.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that two people were killed and two others injured in three separate incidents that took place within a mile of each other.

City officials said this week that they were doubling police patrols in specific problem areas while a coalition of officials, local residents and community leaders develop efforts to end the violence.
