Pull Back on Reporting School Bullying Incidents to Police

official photo

Delaware lawmakers are considering a measure that would end requiring school officials to report to police incidents of bullying in which there are no injuries.

Delaware Attorney General Matt Denn has proposed to eliminate the requirement that all fights be reported to law enforcement authorities.

WBOC reports that he points out there 130 students were sent to the police involving non-injury incidents.

The measure also requires the schools to inform parents that the Attorney General’s office is available if they believe an issue is not being addressed.
