Public Barred During Jury Selection for Trial of Matusiewicz Family

Delaware Law Enforcement

While potential jurors are questioned in the trial of the Matusiewicz family the public will be kept from seeing the proceedings.

The judge said this would allow for a more efficient process in jury selection.

It was a last minute decision by the judge as the family of the courthouse shooter face federal conspiracy and stalking charges.

Thomas Matusiewicz shot and killed his ex-daughter-in-law Christine Belford and a friend at the courthouse before turning the gun on himself.

His son David, his wife Lenore and his daughter Amy Gonzalez are facing charges that they stalked and harassed Belford in the year prior to the shooting.

If convicted each defendant could face life in prison.
