Proposal to Allow Home Gun Sales in Maryland Town

MOUNT AIRY, Md. (AP) - The Mount Airy Town Council is taking public comments on a hotly disputed proposal to allow home sales of firearms.

The public hearing Monday night involves a proposed change to zoning regulations in the town about 30 miles west of Baltimore.

The measure is supported by resident Mike Wonsala, who says he wants to open a home business involving the sale and repair of antique and historically significant guns.

Some of his neighbors oppose the change. They say they're worried the business will bring more traffic and more strangers into their neighborhood.
