Princess Anne Post Office Shutdown Due to Mold

U.S. Post Office logo

The discovery of mold has forced the closure of the post office in Princess Anne.

The U.S. Postal Service found the mold during an inspection earlier this month at the site on Somerset Avenue in a structure that was built back in 1955.

Since the discovery the postal workers have been operating out of a mobile unit that is located near the old post office facing Church Street.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that a sewer line failure back in June led to the discovery of the mold.

Because of that failure portable toilets are also being used by the postal workers.

The U.S. Postal Service was in the process of negotiating a new lease for the 31-hundred square foot building.

The old lease expired at the end of July.
