President Obama is scheduled to unveil an initiative for the Port of Wilmington against the backdrop of the I-495 Bridge whose support supports are being repaired.

The president is hoping to boost private investment for infrastructure.

But the White House initiative also comes just as the president is attempting to get congress to approve funding for the highway transportation trust fund.

Meanwhile, the $35 million emergency repair of the bridge across the Christiana Bridge has closed span since June 2.

The problem has been blamed on a 50-thousand ton pile of soil that was put next to the bridge supports.

US Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx visited the bridge on June 13th and he called it an example of the risks of posed by failing to renew the transportation fund.
