Possible Farm Visit in Hudson Pollution Case

Hudson Farms, fotosearch.com

Could court officials visit the Hudson Farm in Berlin next month?

Perhaps.

Lawyers representing Alan and Kristin Hudson and Perdue Farms recently asked the federal court to come in person to the couple’s farm.

They argue that a visit would help the court understand the evidence and provide a firsthand look at the farm’s chicken houses, manure shed and cow pastures among other things.

The motion was quickly opposed by the Waterkeeper Alliance, an environmental group that is suing the farm over allegations that chicken manure was allowed to enter local waterways.

The organization argues that the 129 mile trip from the Courthouse would take five hours.

A hearing is set for October 9th.
