Perdue AgriBusiness is taking its soybean operation to Pennsylvania where it will process 17.5 million bushels a year at its new $60 million plant.

It’s the first in the Keystone state.

And it will be located in Conoy Township, Lancaster County.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that the state of Pennsylvania is kicking in $8.7 million to develop the site and put in a grain elevator.

There will be an estimated 35 positions created as well as 150 construction jobs.

In addition, the paper reports that there will be 500 related jobs in soybean production and transportation.

The soybeans will largely come from the surrounding area.
