SMYRNA, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say a pedestrian was killed on Korean War Veterans Memorial Highway in Smyrna.

The agency said in a news release that the crash happened about 12:30 p.m. Monday. Troopers say 66-year-old James Leggett of Yeadon, Pennsylvania, was driving a tractor and flatbed trailer.

Police say the tractor trailer drifted onto the right shoulder and hit a 64-year-old man who had just gotten out of a truck's driver's side. Authorities say the man landed in the southbound lane.

Troopers say the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Leggett was not hurt.

The crash is under investigation.
