Paul Tatem Found Not Guilty of Murder

35-year old Paul Tatem has been found not guilty of murdering an elderly man in his home last April.

The jury took three hours to deliberate yesterday morning before returning the verdict.

The charges included not only murder but armed robbery counts as well.

The jury did find Tatem guilty of one charge of possession of a firearm with a felony conviction.

72 year old Donald Mariner who was found dead in his home on Pemberton Drive in Salisbury last April.  

WBOC reports that after the verdict was read there was a sigh of relief by Tatem while the family and friends of the victim expressed disappointment.
