The Mayor of Parksley James Eichelberger died suddenly on Tuesday.
The Salisbury Daily Times reports that Vice Mayor R. Wayne Marshall made the announcement yesterday afternoon on the town’s Facebook page.
Eichelberger has been mayor for the last nine years.
The paper reports that he worked on revitalization of Parksley’s downtown area along with getting the Eastern Shore Public Library and a Department of Motor Vehicles office.
Previously, he was the town manager of Exmore in Northampton County as well as an environmental manager for Perdue Farms.
