Governor Larry Hogan had been scheduled to speak at the Maryland Municipal League Convention in Ocean City today.
But while he won’t be there because of the chemotherapy he is undergoing for cancer the Maryland Republican was not forgotten.
At the convention hundreds of local and state officials signed a huge get well card set up by the entrance into the convention center.
In addition, WBOC reports that green wrist bands were handed out imprinted with words such as survivor, faith and hope.
Representative Chris Van Hollen who is seeking the Democratic nomination for Maryland’s Senate seat praised the outpouring of support for the governor.
Hogan has just completed his first round of chemotherapy after being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
