O'Malley To Tout Biotechnology Industry in Maryland

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Gov. Martin O'Malley is highlighting the role played by biotechnology in Maryland's economy.

The governor has scheduled a trip to the University of Maryland's BioPark in Baltimore on Wednesday.

The O'Malley administration says 600 people work in 30 companies at the University of Maryland BioPark. They work on finding cures for diseases like cancer, malaria and diabetes.
