ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley is planning trips to Florida, Ohio and Texas next month to boost Democratic candidates.

Lis Smith, a spokeswoman for O'Malley's political action committee, said Thursday O'Malley's primary focus will be on electing more Democratic governors. She says October will kick off an aggressive campaign schedule to do that.

O'Malley is scheduled to travel to Tallahassee, Fla., to campaign around the Florida governor's race on Oct. 8.

The next day he is headed to Cleveland for a fundraiser and public event with Ed Fitzgerald, who is running for the Democratic nomination for governor of Ohio next year.

On Oct. 26, O'Malley is scheduled to travel to Texas to be a keynote speaker at the Johnson Rayburn Richards dinner in Houston.
