It was part of the budget unanimously approved by the Town Council.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that town officials say it was part of an effort to shift the resort from its reliance on unreliable transfer taxes.

The council members also ought to cut $200-thousand from the budget for various town projects.

Coming under the budgetary knife was spending for public safety staff as well as overtime and engineering costs over the next five years.
