Ocean City Turns Down Old Bay Bid For Ads on Trams

oldbay.com

The Ocean City Council turned down a proposal to wrap its Boardwalk trams in colorful advertising that would look like the highly recognizable red, blue and yellow tins for Old Bay.

Direct Media made the pitch to the town leaders for its manufacturer McCormick & Company.

The one year deal would have provided the resort over $14-thousand in revenue.

But the Salisbury Daily Times reports that the resort has decided to put out a national request for proposals to find how many other companies would be interested in advertising to some 8 million visitors.

Mayor Rick Meehan said he believed that city should shop around before making a decision.
