Ocean City Town Council Shaves Proposed Tax Hike

On a 4-to-3 vote the Ocean City Town Council has cut the proposed tax increase for the 2013 fiscal budget by 1 cent.

This would shave around $14 from the average household obligations and it will take $800-thousand or so it will lose from its reserve fund.

Council member Jim Hall said that even this small amount to would taxpayers that the town is doing something to try to help them.

But Council member Mary Knight said she did not believe the small saving to the taxpayers was worth taking the money from the reserve fund.
