Ocean City Police Chief Could Be Moving to Florida

OC Police Chief Bernadette DiPino

Ocean City Police Chief Bernadette DiPino could be moving on to head up a department in Sarasota, Fl.

She is one of five candidates now under consideration.

Chief DiPino says she is at the point that she would have to retire in October of next year after 25 years of service in Ocean City.

She told WBOC TV that whether she gets the position or retires in a little over a year she will be sad to leave the Department.

DiPino says she now will have to meet with Sarasota town officials and members of the community next month.

No word on when the decision will be made on the new police chief.
